Pierpont Apartments: Homeless Man Breaks Window

Two seconds into this video you can see the tall window in the middle of the frame is shattered. Then the perpetrator is seen picking up something.

The man was arrested, booked and immediately released because the SLCPD has a policy that if it is a property crime they are not held. That policy is NOT dependent on if the jail is full or not. He is a repeat offender according to the Detective covering the case. They won't release his name to us so we can follow the case without a GRAMMA request but that is no guarantee we will get it. We have made the request which takes 2-4 weeks before a response is issued. The offender was back at the property the following day but fortunately did not display any more aggressive behavior. The detective said it is very likely that he won't show up for court based on past behavior IF the District Attorney decides to prosecute (we don't have a say in the matter even though we are the victim). If he doesn't show up, a warrant is issued. Since he has regular encounters with the SLCPD they will be able to arrest him and hold him under the warrant.

Shattered window.
